Locations · Two homes for Nanaimo families

Two centres, one community.

We operate two purpose-built centres across Nanaimo, each with its own character and program mix. Every family is welcome at either; many of our children move between the two as they grow.

Galactic 1

Allsop Road · our daycare home.

Galactic 1 is our smaller, quieter centre — purpose-built for our youngest learners. The whole space is designed around children aged 2.5 to 5: low sinks, child-height storage, a fenced outdoor yard with garden plots and a forest-school area, and a kitchen prepping hot meals from scratch every day.

  • Programs: Daycare (2.5–5), Forest Program, Occasional Care
  • Hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm Monday through Friday
  • Capacity: 24 children across two classrooms
  • Educators: 4 ECE-qualified leads + 2 ECE Assistants
  • Address: 3606 Allsop Road, Nanaimo BC
Galactic 2 · HQ

Stephenson Point · the full universe.

Galactic 2 is our larger campus and head office. It houses our school-age program, summer and seasonal camps, the indoor aquatics pool, and — opening Fall 2026 — the In Space Academy elementary and middle school. Older kids who started with us at Galactic 1 transition here for school age and beyond.

  • Programs: School Age (5–12), Camps (Spring · Summer · Winter · Pro-D), Aquatics (6 mo – 18 yr), Academy (Grades K–9, opening Fall 2026)
  • Hours: Childcare 7:30am – 5:30pm Mon–Fri; Aquatics 7:30am – 10:30pm seven days a week; Academy 9am – 2pm on school days
  • Pool: Year-round, indoor, heated; classes capped at 6:1
  • Address: 3255 Stephenson Point Road, Nanaimo BC
Future

What's next.

Our long-term plan is for a third location to serve north Nanaimo families and reduce drive times for parents currently commuting across the city. Site selection is underway; we expect to announce by late 2026.

If you'd like to be on the early-notification list — particularly if you're a family in north Nanaimo who would benefit from a closer option — drop us a note at info@inspaceuniverse.com.

Visit

Come see a centre.

The fastest way to know if In Space is right for your family is to walk through one of our spaces, meet a few educators, and see the children at work. Tours are free and welcome.
